Goldfrapp shatters genre on new tracks

Who else could sing so poetically about fake breasts? None other than Allison Goldfrapp and her self-titled band. Gone are the heavy and intense electronic beats of Goldfrapp’s previous albums on “The Seventh Tree” and present are earthy acoustic pickings and natural-sounding strings. The vocals are showcased more in this album and are gorgeous. This album raises the stature of the band dramatically and increases anticipation for future albums.

The rest of this month’s “Your Ear Bone” picks up leftovers from last year, which there were a lot of. Bloc Party, Band of Horses, and Devendra Banhart round out the four jams.
